Roman numerals

Roman Numerals were used in the ancient Romans to represent numbers. The characters consits I,V,X,L,C,D, and M they all represent a number that remined Romans about a certain number.

I represents 1, V represents 5, X represents 10, L represents 50, C represents 100, D represents 500, and M represents 1000. If a smaller digit is put first you subtract that many, for example: IV since 1 is infront of 5 is subtracts 1-5 to make 4. When the bigest digit starts off it adds.

I enjoyed this activity I learnt how to understand the Roman Numeral Method with adding and subtracting.

Paper Airplane and Measurement

LI: To design and make a paper plane that will fly the furthest.

Paper Plane Data – Sheet

Our team challenge was to make airplanes. We analysed our data of the paper air planes we flew. The planes we designed were F-13, F-14, F-15 and one paper plane Our group designed multiple planes to verify which of the planes flew the best. The plane that went the furthest was Mahdi with 11meters  Lastly we versed group by group and measured the flight distance accurately.

I found this task very good because I learnt how to make a airplane

Maths challenge

LI: To figure out the area of a circle, rectangle, and triangle, and to use 3D and 2D shapes.

This week LS2 have been doing  area for a circle, triangle, and rectangle and also learning about circumference and perimeter.

Area is the amount of space a flat figure or 2D shape takes up. To calculate the different areas of different shapes people use formulas. The formula for a circles area is: A=ℼr2. This is area equals  3.14

We also learnt about the 2D and 3D shapes. 2D shapes are flat and has two dimensions, 3D shapes have three dimensions

I found this activty good because I Learnt new formula

Statisical Investigation Social Media

LI:To investigate the social media usage in Ls2

This week for maths My partner and I asked Ls2 students to sign a google form about social media. We want to see if LS2 was cybersmart and their safety knowledge was great . Me and my partner answered a google form from each student in Ls2. We had to be honest and answers the questions on the google form Because we have to be cyber smart. some students that sign the form for example: 29 percent student chat with strangers and 2 students from Ls2 didn’t tell their parents that they have social media And some social media apps aren’t safe and some apps don’t  allow people under 13 yr old on the app.

This activity was scared Because I had to be honest to all the question.
